ENSURING ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT WITH COOPERATION AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER IN KAZAKHSTAN
We are further strengthening our cooperation with Kazakhstan government with innovation and technology transfer for ensuring environmentally sustainable development of Kazakhstan landscape.
The Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KaukoInternational Oy Ltd and Qazaq-Finnish Technology Center (QFTC) have together signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
The memorandum of Cooperation in the field of ecology, forestry, waste and water resources management and fisheries includes cooperation in implementation of investments, transfer of technologies, consulting and experience exchange as well as providing institutional and technical support.
This is a natural continuum of the fruitful relationship between KaukoInternational and Kazakhstan state. We have been furthering the green technology transfer between Kazakhstan and Finland since 2017 when the first MOU was signed.
Kazakhstan government has achieved a status of a major economic power in Central Asia in less than two decades, and the development continues especially in the field of environmental sustainability. Kazakhstan is committed to the international climate treaties and adopted the Green economy concept and action plan. The country has set clear targets for improving its environmental performance and supporting climate resilience across sectors such as energy, water, agriculture, and waste management.1
One clear action for reaching these targets is cooperation and innovation transfer between Kazakhstan governmental institutes and companies, such as KaukoInternational, who has the networks and expertise to enhance and implement innovative environmental projects in Kazakhstan. The memorandum of cooperation pushes these objectives forward.

Kazakhstan is important market for KaukoInternational, and we are committed in bringing our wide network and expertise into use to further enhance the environmentally sustainable development in Kazakhstan. KaukoInternational has a good track record of implementing environmental projects in the region. For example, we have implemented and delivered a new solution for wastewater treatment for a big carboard mill in Almaty. In 2017 we hosted our own KAUKO DAY in Kazakhstan with the theme “Green projects in Kazakhstan” for presenting the great opportunities that KI have built to ensure green development in the region.
KaukoInernational is continuing and strengthening the fruitful cooperation to build green economy in Central Asia region. The journey for KaukoInternational begun already in 2013 when we started to gain and gather foothold in the Central Asian markets as well. The hard work has paid off with good and profitable projects in Kazakhstan, and the whole Central Asia region has become a very important business market and economy to us.
Signing the Memorandum of cooperation enables the implementation and knowledge sharing for even more projects like these.
We would like to also thank the Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan for the confidence he has placed in us.
